Cyberpunk 2077 Reaches Over 500K Positive Reviews on Steam

With over 550K total reviews, 500K of which are positive, Cyberpunk 2077 has achieved a ‘very positive’ player reception on Steam. It is plausible to see a game that was once hated the most for its mess has climbed its way to a point where over 500,000 players love it.

It has been three years since the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, and its journey after release has been nothing short of a bumpy roller coaster ride. I don’t think I need to remind you what Cyberpunk 2077 was like at launch and how it shattered everyone’s expectations with its buggy mess and game-breaking glitches, making it literally unplayable upon release.

It was all over the place, but kudos to CD Projekt Red, the developer behind the game, for never losing hope. They have been tirelessly fixing Cyberpunk 2077 since its release, pouring their heart and soul into making the game better, and the results are now evident with players’ reception changing from unplayable crap to very positive.

In the end, it all worked out thanks to CDPR for never stopping to believe in their creation. After numerous fixes, patches, and more, Cyberpunk 2077 has finally reached a point where players are praising every small detail in the game. The community has finally received the game they wished for three years ago, and it’s heartening to see gamers appreciating CDPR’s dedication and hard work. The game is indeed visually stunning, with vibrant surroundings and an immersive environment.

Night City truly shines now that players don’t have to worry about all those bugs and glitches. They can finally explore the game freely and interact with all the NPCs, each with their own side stories. This shows that Cyberpunk 2077 always had potential and was a good idea at its core. Unfortunately, it was overshadowed by all the negatives it had at launch.

Now that the game is stable, even NVIDIA is using Cyberpunk 2077 as a project to showcase its latest advancements in upscaling technologies like RTX and DLSS (this is part of an official contract between NVIDIA and CDPR).

The one and only expansion for the game, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, is just less than two weeks away, and it’s not going to be just a simple DLC; it’s a major overhaul for the game, tweaking everything and addressing anything that’s been left unpolished in the last three years. Of course, the expansion will also add new content along with all the other changes to enhance the overall game experience.

While it’s impressive to witness the redemption arc of Cyberpunk 2077, we hope that CDPR will maintain this standard or even reach new heights with Phantom Liberty.

Fans are just hoping that CDPR has learned its lesson from the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 and won’t replicate that experience for Phantom Liberty or any future projects that are highly anticipated, like the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 4
