About Saints Row 2022

Volition’s game Saints Row was released on August 23, 2022, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia (well that’s buried under the ground now). The game is a reboot of the Saints Row series.

The game is set in Santo Ileso, a city inspired by Las Vegas. In single-player mode, players follow four friends who form their own gang called The Saints. They try to take power from rival criminal groups by conquering different parts of the city.

Players experience the game in a third-person perspective, moving around the open world on foot or by vehicle. They have a variety of weapons and tools to use against enemies and can recruit non-playable gang members for help. Character customization is a key feature, allowing players to personalize their gang’s leader, known as the Boss.

Besides the main story, players can explore Santo Ileso and participate in side quests. The game also offers an online multiplayer mode for two players to cooperate on the single-player campaign while making progress in their own games.

The game received praise for its ambition and open-world design, but technical issues at launch caused problems and some reviewers found it difficult to play. The storytelling quality and certain gameplay aspects were also noted as areas needing improvement.

Reviews on Metacritic were mixed, with some reviewers liking the combat and the city’s design but criticizing the storytelling and certain gameplay elements.
