The world’s first slideable phone is reportedly in development by Chinese companies Vivo and Transsion. Last September, Transsion revealed its first slideable phone prototype which gathered a lot of hype. Chinese companies have realized that surpassing Samsung in the foldable market is not possible and henceforth adopting new design techniques to pass the leading mobile manufacturer. The slideable panel for this device is being developed by CSOT, a Chinese display company.

According to industry reports on the 9th, Vivo and Transsion are aiming to launch this design by the end of next year. The device will be able to provide an extendable display that can be utilized for many purposes e.g: gaming, productivity etc.

The primary concept behind the slideable phones has already been tried by LG just before it pulled out of the smartphone market, though it was called rollable phones at that time. Those “rollable” panels were provided by BOE at that time.

Tecno Phantom Ultimate

Transsion’s “Tecno Phantom Ultimate” slide phone was introduced as a concept device in September of Last Year. This product was first shown off by Transsion as a rollable smartphone. Transsion states that pressing the product’s top button causes the 6.55-inch display to expand to the full 7.11-inch size in 1.2–1.3 seconds.

Transsion claims that its product uses power-efficient thin-film transsistors made from low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO). Displayed on a 7.11-inch screen at a resolution of 2296×1596 with a pixel density of 388PPI (Pixels Per Inch), etc. Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Z Fold 5 folding phone, which debuted in the second half of 2023, features a 7.6-inch infinity display with a resolution of 2176×1812 and a pixel density of 373PPI.

Tecno Phantom Ultimate | Transsion

CSOT designed the new product panel concept for the Transsion slideable phone. It has been stated that Transsion is working on a product (Tecno Phantom Ultimate) with the intention of releasing it before the end of 2024. The interior structure of the slideable phone needs to be made in such a way that the extended screen can endure external shocks without causing any damage. The hinge used in foldable smartphones serves a distinct purpose here as well.

Vivo is also working on a sliding phone for a possible parallel release. The panel for Vivo’s sliding phone is rumoured to come from either CSOT or Samsung Display. Compared to Samsung Display, CSOT is thought to be less affected by the production yield of innovative form factor products, thus it may be more involved in the supply of Vivo slideable phone panels.

As it seems unlikely that they would be able to compete with Samsung Electronics in the foldable phone market, Chinese smartphone manufacturers are reportedly working hard on slideable phones. Samsung Electronics is working on a wide range of form factor devices, including slideable phones, but right now it needs to concentrate on growing the market for foldable phones. Delivering the world’s first mass-produced slideable phone panels could give the Chinese government the image that they are at the forefront of inventing innovative form factor products, and CSOT and other Chinese panel makers could benefit from this perception.

Further details are unknown as of yet, however, we will make sure to update you in case of any progression.

The release date for Nintendo’s next Switch 2 console is yet to be announced. The anticipation for the upcoming device is at an all-time high, thanks to the rumored capabilities the console would include. Although official specifications have not been announced, it is expected to be significantly different from its predecessor. According to a new rumor, Nintendo will release the updated Switch 2 in June 2024 (next year).

Doctre81 posted a video on YouTube describing how he believes the debut will be next year based on a number of evidence derived from a new job listing from Nintendo. The user obtained this information from an advertisement for a Retail and Marketing Intern position with a deadline of December 1st, 2023. The job description describes how the applicant will benefit from an increased experience between June and August of next year, implying that a major marketing event may take place at the same time.

Doctre81 states in the video that the launch may not be in June but rather during the specified timeframe because marketing would begin in June according to the job listing, indicating a September launch. This is consistent with the fact that the Switch Lite and OLED Versions were also launched in September, establishing a possible pattern for the upcoming release.

Numerous leaks of the new console’s features have already been released, so if the claims are true, it will be an exciting release. The official release date of the Nintendo Switch 2 has not yet been announced. Stay tuned for the most recent information about the console as it becomes available.

Newly released Microsoft lawsuit documents appear to provide additional confirmation that the next Xbox console will launch in 2028.

According to a recent report by Axios, company executives plan to take the same adaptable approach of numerous console models into the next-gen of consoles in 2028. The intriguing specifics have been revealed via a leaked internal communication log involving the head of gaming, Phil Spencer, and CEO Satya Nadella.

The FTC’s complaint to prevent Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard included a transcript of an internal spring 2022 discussion between Microsoft and Blizzard employees. The chat record included a discussion of Microsoft’s future plans for multi-version support. The answer seems to be yes, with the company planning to use numerous choices for the tenth generation of consoles.

“Is the plan for 2028 to keep that [illegible] like model or force a Windows like flexible/capabilities like model?” says Gosalia, speaking in the meeting.

“We need to be even more flexible going forward with gen 10, but also provide the ability for creators to take advantage of unique hardware capabilities,” replies corporate vice president of gaming ecosystems, Kevin Gammill.

The year 2028 was stated seemingly out of the blue in the chat logs, suggesting that the officials never anticipated the information to make it to the public. A leak of an internal chat log from Spring 2022 indicates that its contents should be interpreted carefully. It’s possible that a lot has changed in the past year. Previous hazy rumors from the FTC vs. Microsoft case also suggest, however, that the next generation of consoles will launch in 2028.

Starfield could be Bethesda’s most ambitious game to date. Easily the biggest, it features over a hundred star systems with over a thousand planets to discover. Starfield players can still land anywhere and make their way across the uncharted alien environment, despite the fact that there is no smooth transition from space to surface. Even if games like Elite Dangerous and No Man’s Sky offer larger explorable galaxies than Starfield, a thousand planets is still a lot to work with.

According to Tom Henderson, Starfield will have a different number of landing spots for each planet. Each landing spot will have a different terrain limit that players can explore and do their missions on. The specified landing spots will be generated based on POIs (Points of Interest) that depend on pending missions

In layman’s terms, this means that the planets will have specific landing points near the missions in the storyline. Although there will be designated landing areas, players are free to land anywhere on the planet. Landing in their preferred location will generate a terrain nearby based on randomly generated variables. According to Tom, quests and other fun things will be generated nearby, but we can’t guarantee this will happen.

According to a tweet reply by Pete Hines a few days ago, Starfield would have unlimited planet exploration. This statement pumped up fans even more than usual and sparked lengthy debate on various forums. However, given the previous hype, this recent leak has disappointed fans. We cannot guarantee any information that is currently available on the internet, but if this new rumour is true, it will undoubtedly disappoint.

Starfield Boundary Reached | Oliver Darko

The Problem with Procedural Generation

Starfield’s enormous procedurally generated sci-fi environment is sure to provide players with numerous hours of entertainment and replay value. Its enormous size guarantees that gamers will never mistakenly revisit the same area twice. Despite these benefits, the game may still have a fundamental issue in terms of player engagement and fun.

Starfield | Bethesda

The idea of procedural generation lies at the heart of this matter. In games like Minecraft, it’s used to create vast, open environments that are perfectly suited to the same survival/crafting gameplay. However, this is not the first role-playing game made by Bethesda to employ procedural creation. The randomly generated world of The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall was criticized for having boring environments. If Bethesda isn’t careful, Starfield’s procedurally generated worlds will fall into the same trap.

One major drawback of procedural generation is that it has a finite number of variables at its disposal. Each instance of Minecraft is unique due to the game’s many random factors, such as the placement of blocks, the types of biomes present, and the form of the landscape. It’s possible that Starfield’s planets don’t feel as unique because it doesn’t use as many factors in its world formation. Adding human colonies here and there to Starfield’s randomly generated quests won’t prevent the planets from all looking the same.

Bringing Extraterrestrial Life To The Game

One way Bethesda could have changed things up would have been to introduce extraterrestrial species on par with humans in terms of intelligence. The planets would have had greater cultural differences and the player may have experienced more of them. Even if there are several groups for players to consider, that variety pales in comparison to what could have been added by alien intelligence. Starfield’s trailers have shown no signs of extraterrestrial life, thus this is probably not going to be one of the game’s many features.

Starfield’s short lifespan can be improved with regular content updates. If Starfield’s randomly generated planet formula were often updated, players may experience drastically diverse planets with every couple of updates. For previously saved games, this means exploring planets that haven’t been produced yet. Adopting a constant update schedule with new, unique worlds would be the greatest approach for Starfield to grow upon features like biome additions, additional exotic animals, or perhaps other intelligent life.

To sum up, Starfield’s procedurally generated planets won’t be fully evaluated until the game is released. Hopefully, the procedural generation process will be more like Minecraft’s, and the game won’t be a failure like Bethesda’s earlier try with Daggerfall’s enormous universe. The excitement for Apple’s upcoming event has been building for several months, and it is coming sooner than expected. The Apple event will reveal many new devices to users, including the much-anticipated iPhone 15. The iPhone 15 has generated a greater buzz than its predecessors due to the numerous updates it will receive, such as the Type-C port.

A recent rumour on Twitter (Now X) claims that Apple’s event will take place on September 12, 2023. Majin Bu, who has previously provided us with insider leaks for the upcoming 4k supported Type-C cable, claims that Apple will hold the event on September 12th. However, the user stated that his source has chosen to remain anonymous for obvious reasons.

The rumour has considerable credibility because all Apple events (with the exception of the iPhone 12) have occurred in the second week of September. The trend for the event date has always been the same, however, there is currently no anticipation as to when Apple will formally announce the event date.

iPhone 15’s Expected Features

The introduction of the Dynamic Island and a 48-megapixel main camera on the iPhone 14 Pro models made a few waves last year, but that was about it in terms of game-changing upgrades.

With the release of the iPhone 15, which is rumoured to arrive in four different models, Apple will officially make the switch to USB-C as its smartphone charging standard, a decision that was likely influenced by legislative efforts to mandate the standard in European markets. Although the rumoured price range may come as a bit of a sticker shock, this is an iPhone series to watch with significant curiosity.

According to Bloomberg’s chief tech journalist Mark Gurman, who has accurately reported on Apple’s product plans for more than a decade, the iPhone 15 lineup will contain four models this year: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

iPhone 15 Pro’s Render | MacRumors

Analysts agree that the removal of Apple’s Lightning port and adoption of a USB-C charging standard will be a game-changer for all four models, though the biggest changes will likely be held for the iPhone 15 Pro series.

Expected Pricing

Of course, we have no idea how much the iPhone 15 will cost just yet, but we could speculate based on rumours and the iPhone 14’s initial retail price:

128GB: $799 / £849 / AU$1,339
256GB: $899 / £959 / AU$1,579
512GB: $1,099 / £1,179 / AU$1,899

At first, we thought the iPhone 15 would have a starting price of $799 (or equivalent in other currencies), like the iPhone 14. Recent speculation, however, suggests that Apple’s increased production costs will cause the iPhone 15’s price to be higher than that of the iPhone 14’s.

If confirmed, this would be the first series-wide price hike for an iPhone in the United States since 2017. Even as recently as the iPhone 14 series was released last year, prices increased in international regions.

Apple may decide to follow the lead of rivals like Samsung and Oppo and remove the 128GB storage option from the iPhone 15 this year. However, we anticipate that this choice will be made for the company’s upcoming Pro models only.

The director of God of War Ragnarok, Eric Williams, said shortly after the game’s release that it was unlikely to obtain a DLC, but apparently, that view has changed. The Snitch, a well-known leaker, has claimed that a God of War Ragnarok DLC is currently under development at Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Santa Monica Studio.

On Twitch, the leaker stated that he has no idea whether the project Sony Santa Monica is working on is a standalone expansion like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales or DLC for God of War: Ragnarok.

The leaker claims that he obtained these specifics from the same reliable source that disclosed Rise of the Ronin screenshots before the game’s official reveal. However, we may expect it sometime this year.

Sony Santa Monica had recently advertised open positions on their website, specifically seeking candidates with “knowledge of God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok.” Some assumed the postings were for a full-fledged sequel, although it’s possible they were for downloadable content or an expansion instead.

God of War | SIE

Previous Leaks Linking to a Potential DLC

A voice actor for God of War previously made a cryptic comment about Tyr’s possible return earlier this year. Many people at the time assumed that the voice actor was hinting at Tyr’s position in the God of War TV series, but the most recent leak sheds doubt on that theory.

God of War Ragnarok, unlike the first game in the Norse saga, concluded the story in a way that left players feeling fulfilled. The game, however, was designed with spin-offs in mind, henceforth setting a possibility for a future DLC

Atreus was given a lot of screen time in God of War: Ragnarok. Thus, if the leak is to be believed, it would not be too far-fetched to have a spin-off centred on Kratos’ son, similar to Spider-Man: Miles Morales or Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

According to a report, Google is conducting surveys with Pixel superfans in the hopes of developing additional AI-powered camera features. While this comes as no surprise, It is pleasing to hear that Google is expanding the Pixel 8‘s capabilities thanks to artificial intelligence. This isn’t shocking news because, knowing Google, these features were bound for the next Pixel phones regardless.

This is what we know about the possible camera features of the Pixel 8 based on a survey Google conducted.

  • “No worries if someone’s distracted during a group photo, your phone’s AI can still make it into a perfect group photo.”
  • “Create the perfect team picture by merging everyone’s best shot with your phone’s AI technology so everyone looks great.”

The rumours suggest that the Pixel 8 will ship with a number of AI-powered capabilities, one couldn’t be happier about this development. It looks like the new phone will have the ability to seamlessly integrate people into photos. While this may seem like a gimmick, I like the way it sounds and am hopeful that it will be an appreciated feature when it is released.

In addition, we now know that the updated set of features will enable you to make use of more AI-driven enhancements. The following was discovered thanks to information released by Kamila Wojciechowska.

https://twitter.com/Za_Raczke/status/1694466529406877790

You can quickly alter the background, the people’s outfits, or really anything in the shot with the help of your phone’s creative AI editing features, allowing you to have infinite fun with your group photos. This suggests that the Pixel 8 will allow for some high-quality customization and that plenty of new functions will be available for the device.

It’s not like any of this is a big secret or anything. Many of us knew that since the Pixel 6, Google had been working hard to improve the Pixel’s overall artificial intelligence-related features and that these enhancements would make it into the Pixel 8. Once the devices are out, I am more curious to see how these functions are implemented and how well they improve over time. The phone is expected to be released officially in the month of October, and additional information will be arriving in the coming weeks.

The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max might distinguish themselves from regular versions by shipping with more robust Thunderbolt cables rather than the more common USB 2.0 cables. The rumour states that Apple has been using future premium models to test these high-bandwidth accessories, including cables with amazing specifications.

Majin Bu, who also provided photographs of the attachment, says that the length of the physical Thunderbolt cable is 70cm. We immediately noted that it is thicker than other cables on the market, and this is likely owing to the increased power and data it can carry. The designed cable can supply up to 150W of power and provide an output for a 4K display running at 60 frames per second.

This may indicate that Apple is testing the Thunderbolt cable with more than just the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The engineering unit supports up to 20Gbps data rates, which is equivalent to USB 4 Gen 2 speeds. Such speeds can be reduced to 5Gbps or USB 3.2 if needed. We additionally found that the USB-C connections on both the ‘Pro‘ iPhones and the iPad Pro devices may not achieve the maximum specified bandwidth of the Thunderbolt standard.

Regardless of bandwidth constraints, this cable may have an unlimited feature set. It was previously speculated that Apple might implement support for high-resolution monitors for professional use on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, although this capability may not be accessible at launch but rather in a future software update. Nothing has been verified, but we speculate that Apple’s official Thunderbolt cable will be slimmer and come in greater lengths for convenience.

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the first handsets to feature Thunderbolt connectors, and we thank Apple for this groundbreaking achievement. However, we hope that their capabilities have not been artificially constrained by software.

The seventh generation of wireless networking, Wi-Fi 7 is the latest to require the current version of the Windows operating system to function properly.

The next-generation Wi-Fi 7 connectivity option is expected to arrive on laptops and desktops later this year, according to documentation supplied by Intel (via chi11eddog). Wi-Fi 7 will be available in Intel’s Gale Peak 2 BE200” discrete solution, among other networking controllers and solutions. The Killer 1750X controller and Bluetooth 5.4 support are just two of the features of this solution.

https://twitter.com/g01d3nm4ng0/status/1694318820096147957

The document describes Wi-FI 7 GaP2 and MtP2, which can offer TCP TPT speeds of 5 Gbps (320M/MSC13) and TCP TT rates of 3 Gbps (160M/MSC13). Wi-Fi 7 solutions will use a newer, more efficient process technology to provide an active power architecture with significantly less consumption. But the OS compatibility is the most crucial factor.

Since only Windows 11 and the most recent versions of Linux/Chrome OS are specifically specified, customers running Windows 10 will be unable to take advantage of Wi-Fi 7 until they switch to Windows 11. This means that many people using Windows 10 will be unable to take advantage of improvements made to wireless networking.

The upcoming “Core Ultra” platform will feature cutting-edge Wi-Fi 7 technology. New laptops and mobility solutions based on the 1st Gen Core Ultra CPUs, codenamed Meteor Lake, will also feature Wi-Fi 7 capabilities when they are released later this fall. Alongside this, we’ve seen motherboard manufacturers unveil brand-new Z790 products that incorporate the Wi-Fi 7 technology e.g. Asus.

Although Intel and Microsoft will be working together to promote Windows 11 on Intel’s latest processors, migrating to a new platform is a time-consuming process that isn’t made any easier by Microsoft. Upgrading from a prior version of Windows still presents significant challenges for users, and in most cases, a valid licence for the previous operating system will not ensure you access to the latest version of Windows. It’s unfortunate that the vast majority of consumers will be ignored when software and hardware makers shift their attention to more modern platforms.

Since the inception of ChatGPT, artificial intelligence has grown at a rapid pace. Nowadays, every new feature is accompanied by AI functionality that enhances its appeal to users. Microsoft has also been adopting AI technology, gradually incorporating AI features into its operating system. The company, for example, recently introduced Windows Copilot, an Integrated AI Assistant in its Windows Operating System.

But Microsoft isn’t stopping there when it comes to incorporating AI into Windows 11. Windows Central has learned through reliable sources that Microsoft is considering incorporating artificial intelligence features into several built-in Windows 11 programs, including Photos, Snipping Tool, and Paint. A neural processing unit (NPU) or a visual processing unit (VPU) may be necessary for some of these capabilities, while for others they may not be necessary at all.

OCR in Photos App

Microsoft is developing an artificial intelligence feature for the Photos app that will analyze images for certain items or individuals, allowing users to then selectively extract those aspects for further manipulation. It’s hardly surprising to learn that Microsoft is attempting to add this capability to Windows, given that iOS and Android have had it for some time.

Camera App with OCR | Windows Central

According to Windows Central, Microsoft is planning to add OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the Snipping Tool so that copied text from screenshots can be found more quickly. Microsoft is also working on integrating optical character recognition (OCR) into the Camera app so that users may choose text in photos they shoot with the device.

Windows Paint Getting AI Integration

The Windows 11 Paint program has also been the subject of Microsoft’s generative AI experiments, according to Windows Central, users might use Paint in the same way they use Bing Image Creator now to have the program generate a blank canvas based on their input. According to sources, Bing technology will power the Paint AI integration.

It’s not known if or when Microsoft will release Windows 11 with these AI features. Industry insiders said these concepts are still in the testing phase as they figure out how to add AI features to Windows. Microsoft is said to unveil new Surface hardware and elaborate on artificial intelligence in Windows during an event on September 21.

The next major Windows platform release is scheduled for 2024, and it will reportedly feature enhanced AI capabilities. Microsoft is currently developing some basic artificial intelligence features for Windows 11. According to trusted sources, the business will start heavily incorporating AI experiences in the next big release.

This is all we have for now, rest assured we will make sure to keep you informed in case of any updates through Windows officially. Do let us know what you think about the AI incorporation in the comments down below
