FSP’s Newest PSU can Power 4 4090s at Once

The Cannon Pro, an ATX 3.0 power supply certified for PCIe Gen 5 with a massive 2500W of power delivery capacity, was on display by FSP at Computex 2023. Hassan Mujtaba of WccfTech tweeted about this PSU, showing off its specifications and outputs to the globe.

Even though there are only two 12VHPWR ports on the PSU, FSP claims it can power up to four RTX 4090 graphics cards (two directly via the 12VHPWR connectors and two via 12VHPWR to PCIe 8-pin power adaptors). The 2500W Cannon Pro power supply from FSP still has 700W of capacity after powering four 450W RTX 4090 graphics cards, which is a lot of juice for other parts of the system.

FSP aims their Cannon Pro UPS at data center infrastructure, including servers and workstations. Extremely power-hungry computers may be present in such environments, especially those employing numerous graphics cards or other accelerators for complex artificial intelligence (AI) tasks or equivalent.

FSP’s 2500W 80+ Platinum monster measures in at 150mm x 200mm x 86mm, which isn’t that big considering the amount of power it can provide. We do not know when or how much this massive power supply will cost from FSP at this moment. We will let you know as soon as any confirmation is made.

MX09 Cooler

FSP also displayed its MX09 cooler, a dual-tower heatsink solution for CPUs, in addition to the power supplies. It has dimensions of 147 by 149 by 160 mm, can accommodate taller DIMMs, and has plenty of room for installing and removing the central fan.

Compared to the Noctua NH-D15, CPU temperatures are lower by 2-3 degrees, as shown by FSP testing. It uses an angular aluminum fin array with huge gaps in the centre and a heatpipe layout with seven individual tubes to efficiently exhaust hot air. There is no pricing and availability confirmation from the corporation until the upcoming months.
