Samsung Galaxy S24 Series May Feature the Exynos 2400

Exynos hasn’t always gotten the praise it deserves, and for a solid reason too.

It has always lacked behind it’s Snapdragon counterpart, and has had multiple thermal related issues in the past. The issue wasn’t that these chipsets weren’t good, but their reputation was tainted due to the fact that consumers were paying the same amount for less performance. Well, seems as it all that is about to change.

The rumors about Samsung‘s upcoming Galaxy S24 series have been up in the air, with many speculating about the possible return to Exynos chipsets after the S23 series featured Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors. The latest leaks suggest that the Galaxy S24 may indeed bring the Exynos 2400 processor, boasting a 10-core architecture and the GPU developed in collaboration with AMD.

This doesn’t mean that Samsung will abandon Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoCs entirely, rather, the company may adopt a multi-chip strategy for its flagship lineup. Although, the return of Exynos in the S23FE is confirmed, there’s was still no solid evidence about the S24 series.

Now, we have news that Kwon Hyuk-man, Executive Vice President of System LSI, confirmed this, stating: “We are pushing for the return of Exynos to the flagship of the Galaxy series.” This announcement aligns with the rumors of the Galaxy S24 series featuring the Exynos 2400 in some regions.

Furthermore, during Samsung’ s first-quarter earnings call on April 27, the company revealed that it is producing test chips for customers based on a 3nm process, with plans to develop a 2nm process for mass production by 2025.

This could point towards Samsung advancing its Exynos chipsets, making them even more competitive in the mobile market and further solidifying the company’s multi-chip strategy for its flagship devices. Who knows, we may even see purely Exynos flagships in the near future!

In addition, while this may not be entirely true, but leaks have confirmed that specs of the Exynos 2400. The Exynos 2400 processor is said to feature a 10-core architecture, including a Cortex-X4 core running at 3.1 GHz, two Cortex-A720 cores at 2.9 GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at 2.6 GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores at 1.8 GHz.

It is important that you take this news with a grain of salt, as not a lot of people would be thrilled to hear this, but lets hope that Samsung, like Apple would become completely independent in terms of mobile chipsets, which is ultimately better for the competition in the industry.
