Huawei Set to Launch XMAGE 2.0 with P60 Series
Huawei has been a key player in the smartphone industry for quite some time now. One of the company’s standout features has been its advanced camera technology. Before the US Ban, one could say that Huawei phones were inarguably one of the best, if not, the best when it came to photography, and one of the reasons for that was just how fast they innovated.
In 2020, Huawei launched XMAGE, its in-house imaging solution, with the Mate 50 series. Now, Huawei is preparing to launch XMAGE 2.0 with the Huawei P60 series later this month.
XMAGE 2.0 to Debut with Huawei P60 Series
According to Weibo tipster Classmateguan, the new imaging capabilities of XMAGE 2.0 are expected to be first seen on the Huawei P60 series. However, there is not much information available yet about the specific updates or changes that will be offered by XMAGE 2.0.
If you don’t already know what XMAGE is, it is built around four imaging systems: optical system, mechanical structure, imaging technology, and image processing. These systems work together to provide an all-new user experience for the smartphone camera.
The super-optical variable camera on the Huawei Mate 50 series was one of the first devices to adopt XMAGE technology. This camera features variable aperture, allowing it to achieve a ten-stop adjustable aperture at the physical level, which has brought technological breakthroughs in three optical systems. XMAGE also brings new color enhancements suitable for various real-time photography scenarios.
Huawei P60 Series to Come in Three Variants
The Huawei P60 series is expected to pack high-end specs, especially in the camera section. The tipster has said that we may see three Huawei P60 series models: P60, P60 Pro, and P60 Ultra. The latter two models are expected to feature an even more advanced camera technology. However, will it be enough for Huawei to regain it’s lost glory?
The Huawei P60 series could also come with the next generation of satellite communication features, allowing for two-way SMS conversations without a mobile network. This could be a game-changer for those who live in remote areas with poor mobile network coverage.
