Apple to Launch OLED iPad Pro Models in Mid 2024, Will Feature Quality Similar to iPhones

Apple still uses mini-LED technology, and it will take a few more years for the business to transition to OLED for the iPad Pro versions that will be available in 2024. Fortunately, the 11-inch and 12.9-inch models are said to use the same premium panel made for the company’s iPhone lineup.

According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, a special spring event will be conducted in 2024 for the OLED iPad Pro variants. He asserts in his “Power On” newsletter that there won’t be any difference in the characteristics of the panels because the hardware on the tablets will be equivalent to that on the iPhone.

As others have reported, look for 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros in spring 2024 with OLED screens—matching the quality of the displays in the iPhone.”

Users will enjoy the same visual quality while watching HDR material and near-picturesque color fidelity when editing videos or images with professional-grade applications thanks to the same screens in the new iPad Pro models. Not only that but Apple is also reported to use hybrid OLED technology, which gets rid of the “wrinkled” appearance of panels and is also less expensive to produce in large quantities.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max recently won the most accolades from DisplayMate, including one in which the flagship was hailed as having the most exemplary smartphone display ever, surpassing the iPhone 13 Pro Max from the previous year. Given that the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s display was superior to the iPhone 13 Pro Max’s, we can only anticipate more fantastic features in the versions released two years from now, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, which will be released in 2024.

When it comes to which manufacturer will fulfill the orders for OLED displays for the iPad Pro, it is expected that Samsung will take up most of the share. LG could be engaged somehow, but we won’t know for sure until the upcoming months.
