Apple Might Just Announce the New iPads and MacBooks Through A Press Release

Apple may have different plans for its next iPads and Macs than it did for the iPhone 14 event, presenting both product lines via press releases rather than holding formal presentations.

Before 2022 comes to a conclusion, Apple still has a tonne of product launches left, and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman predicts the following will happen soon.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about Apple’s remaining product releases for 2022. Here’s what I believe is still highly likely to launch before the calendar turns into 2023:

-M2 and M2 Pro Mac minis

-M2 Pro and M2 Max 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros

-M2 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros

A low-cost iPad 10 debut was not mentioned in Gurman’s Power On newsletter, even though we have been hearing a lot about it. This statement is especially intriguing because it states that press releases will serve as the formal announcements of the unveilings rather than a physical event.

It seems unlikely. Apple may ultimately end up feeling differently, but I think the company (as of now) is more likely to release its remaining 2022 products via press releases, updates to its website and briefings with select members of the press—rather than via a major iPhone-style keynote.”

This strategy may suggest that the M2 Pro and M2 Max processors, which will power the upcoming 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, won’t be mass produced on TSMC’s 3nm design as previously reported, but rather on the 5nm process.

Regarding the iPad Pro models, they’ll probably come with the same M2 SoC that powers the updated MacBook Air, but they won’t look any different from the upcoming 11-inch and 12.9-inch models which could potentially hinder their sales.

Apple’s Far-Out event proved to be a gigantic success for the company with the debut of iPhone 14 and multiple accessories. The start of October is less than a week away, so pay attention as we learn more about Apple’s actual plans.
