Call Of Duty Modern Warfare III Gameplay Showcased at Gamescom

Activision and developer Sledgehammer Games revealed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III last week with a brief trailer that teased a number of features, including the return of Vladimir Marakov and the controversial “No Russian” mission. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see much of the full game. The meaty portion of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III was graciously provided by Activision during today’s Gamescom Opening Night Live event.

The gameplay is attached below for ease of use. Unfortunately, it is Age Restricted so you will have to watch it on the YouTube website after logging in to your account.

The new video, which runs in at almost 9 minutes, reveals an important part of the opening campaign for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. To get inside the fortified Zordaya Prison, viewers witness the heroes climb out of the water and use grappling hooks. The footage is gloomy and impressively lit, with lots of night-vision action. Of course, as is customary for cinematic Call of Duty missions, pretty much everything is on rails, but the action still looks rather interesting. At the end of the video, the crew visits a particular cell, which possibly holds Makarov.

New Game Modes

Activision and developer Sledgehammer Games promise more freedom of choice for players by including both classic Call of Duty maps and new “Open Combat Missions” in the campaign. For instance, you can either charge headfirst into battle or sneak up on your opponent. These missions will apparently take place in various locations across Warzone 2.0 maps.

At launch, we will receive remastered versions of the following multiplayer maps from the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: Afghan, Derail, Estate, Favela, Karachi, Highrise, Invasion, Quarry, Rundown, Rust, Scrapyard, Skid Row, Sub Base, Terminal, Underpass, and Wasteland. In addition to the reintroduction of the popular War mode, Activision has promised three brand new massive maps for Ground War and Invasion. Over the span of MWIII’s live seasons, at least a dozen brand-new multi-player maps will be made available to players.

Open World Zombie Mode

Zombies are coming back as well, with veteran creator Treyarch at the controls once more. This time around, the largest Zombies map to date will be the setting for an all-new Dark Aether storyline and open-world survival-style gameplay.

The game is launching on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5 on the 10th of November 2023. This is all the information we have for now and will make sure to update you in case any new information is made public.
