Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Beta is Coming to PlayStation Consoles First

It is already known that the Call of Duty game for 2023 is going to be the last one before the marketing agreement between Sony/PlayStation and Activision ends. With the agreement being in effect, it is now confirmed that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Beta is coming to PlayStation consoles first. This confirmation comes after an Arabic teaser of the game was posted on PlayStation’s YouTube channel (spotted and translated by CharlieIntel).

It is worth noting that this marketing deal between Activision and Sony, which is responsible for Modern Warfare 3’s beta coming to PlayStation consoles first, predates the announcement of Microsoft‘s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. However, Microsoft has already signed another binding agreement with Sony to ensure Call of Duty games remain on PlayStation consoles after the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

Last month, the Xbox Chief, Phil Spencer announced that Sony and Microsoft have finally come to terms regarding the accessibility of Call of Duty on PlayStation consoles.

We are pleased to announce that Microsoft and @PlayStation have signed a binding agreement to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation following the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. We look forward to a future where players globally have more choices to play their favorite games.”

Phile Spencer

The specifics of this new agreement between Sony and Microsoft are not public yet.

Regarding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, it is set to have an official global release on August 17, 2023. As of now, we only know that the classic Call of Duty villain Vladimir Makarov is going to return in Modern Warfare 3.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is Not Leaving Last-Gen Soldiers Behind

Fans who were confused about whether Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 would come to last-gen consoles or not can now rest assured (thanks IGN), as it has been confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will indeed be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, along with PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 10th November 2023.

The confusion about this began when a Twitter user and content creator TheGamingRevolution pointed out something interesting. On the official Xbox page for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, only Xbox Series X|S were mentioned, with no mention of Xbox One.

He also highlighted a YouTube video from PlayStation’s official account, which seemed to confirm releases for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, making the situation even more puzzling. The official Xbox page for Modern Warfare 3 has been updated and now includes Xbox One in the platform list, confirming that the game is coming to both PS4 and Xbox One.

That’s all the information we have for now; more details about Modern Warfare 3 are expected to be revealed on August 17, 2023. We will update you on that. Until then, please share your thoughts about this news in the comments section below.
