Magic: The Gathering Unveils Epic Crossovers with Final Fantasy, Fallout, Assassin’s Creed, and More

Marking the game’s 30th anniversary, Wizards of the Coast has revealed that they will be venturing into the world of Fallout, Final Fantasy, and Assassin’s Creed. The Fallout Commander Decks are slated for release in March 2024, bringing the factions and super mutants from the post-apocalyptic Fallout series to the Magic: The Gathering universe. 

Similarly, in 2025, the fantasy realm of Final Fantasy will merge with the card game, allowing fans to wield the power of their favorite characters and spells from the iconic RPG series in Magic: The Gathering Arena.

But the surprises don’t end there. Magic: The Gathering has set its sights on other revered franchises, such as Assassin’s Creed and Doctor Who. In July 2024, players can immerse themselves in the Assassin’s Creed universe as the game introduces cards that represent the various titles in the action-adventure series. Meanwhile, Doctor Who fans can look forward to the release of the Magic: The Gathering – Doctor Who set on October 13, 2023, featuring four Commander decks.

Wizards of the Coast is keen on expanding its fan base and attracting new players by tapping into the vast universes of these beloved video game and television franchises. The collaboration with Jurassic World in Q4 2023, titled Lost Caverns of Ixalan, commemorates the 30th anniversary of Jurassic Park’s theatrical debut and brings to life the thrilling adventures of the Jurassic World movies.
