Homelander and Peacemaker Join the Mortal Kombat Universe

Mortal Kombat 1 is just two months away from release, and the anticipation is at an all-time high. NetherRealm Studios, at the San Diego Comic-Con has just released a brand-new trailer for the game, which sheds light on the Umgadi faction. Take a look at it down below:

But that’s not all, NetherRealm had something else in store.

New Kombat Pack DLC Includes Homelander, Peacemaker, Omni-Man, Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda

It released another trailer for MK1’s first DLC, the Kombat Pack, and confirmed SIX FIGHTERS that will be making it to the launch.

These new additions include the Homelander and the Peacemaker, as the guest characters. The Peacemaker almost surely looks like John Cena, and the Homelander like Antony Starr.

Homelander is a controversial character, but there’s no denying that he’s popular. His inclusion in Mortal Kombat 1 is sure to be divisive, but on the other hand, Peacemaker has also quickly become a fan-favorite, and NetherRealm has surely capitalized on this popularity.

In addition to Homelander and Peacemaker, NetherRealm Studios also confirmed that Omni-Man, the main character from Invincible, will be joining the roster.

Rounding out these new additions are returning Mortal Kombat characters Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda. These characters are all fan favorites, but the direction this game will take from here with these characters is not clear for now.

While all these are welcome additions, they were not entirely unexpected. From earlier rumors, we knew that the three may be making their way over to MK1, but still it’s great that they are finally confirmed.

Aside from that, in the original Umgadi trailer, we found out that Tanya, Baraka, and Li Mei will be featured as playable characters in game. We know that Baraka was playable in MK11, and Tanya in MK10, but Li-Mei is making a comeback after almost 17 years since her appearance in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.

From the trailer, you can clearly see how all of these three would be part of the main roster and it also showcases some footage, from the gameplay itself too.

This is all we know for now, but rest assured that we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
