Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart PC Requirements Unveiled: It Does Not Require an SSD to Run

Nixxes Software in collaboration with Insomniac Games has unveiled the PC Requirements for the highly anticipated PC port of the PlayStation game, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart. The game, which was originally designed to showcase the advanced hardware capabilities of the PlayStation 5, is now set to reach a wider audience on the PC platform.

The minimum requirements for the game include an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon RX 470 GPU, an Intel Core i3-8100 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 CPU, 8 GB of RAM, and 75 GB of HDD space. Interestingly, the game can run on Windows 10 64-bit (version 1909 or higher) and does not require an SSD for operation, a feature that stands out given the game’s initial design for the PlayStation 5‘s powerful SSD.

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart PC Requirments | Sony

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart’s transition to the PC platform is part of Sony’s broader strategy to make its popular PlayStation exclusive games accessible to a larger audience.

This game follows successful PC ports of PlayStation games like Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales, God of War (2018), Horizon Zero Dawn, and others. However, it’s worth noting that some of these ports, such as The Last Of Us Part 1 and Returnal, faced initial challenges with resource utilization and technical glitches, which were later addressed through hotfixes and patches.

Given Nixxes Software’s track record with successful ports like Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales, fans are hopeful for a smooth launch of Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart on PC. The decision to not require an SSD for the game, which was initially designed to highlight the PlayStation 5’s SSD capabilities, adds an intriguing twist to the upcoming release.
