Pakistan Beats Korea 3-0 to Secure Grand Nations Cup Finals

In the second Gamers8 Tekken 7 Nations Cup Playoff, Pakistan defeated Korea 3-0 to secure their place in the Grand Final.

The match was far from a closely contested affair, with Japan playing all over the place. In the first selector match, Arslan Ash faced off against Knee, one of the world’s best Tekken player. Arslan won the match 3-1.

The entry match saw Ulsan facing off against KHAN. Ulsan went for Kazumi, whereas KHAN played Marduk, and easily won 3-1, giving Pakistan a 1-0 lead.

The match then came down to the boss match, with Arslan Ash facing off against Chanel. Arslan went for Kunimitsu, and Chanel went for Alisa. Arsalan won the match 2-0.

The Nail-Biting Boss Match

Next up was Tekken World Tour champion, Atif Butt, going against Knee in the boss match.

Atif Butt was phenomenal against Knee. In the first match, Atif played Akuma and Knee went for Feng. Atif won the first match 3-1, displaying his mastery of Akuma’s moveset.

In the second match, Atif stayed with Akuma, but Knee switched to Bryan. This proved to be a more difficult matchup for Atif, but he was able to come back from a 2-0 deficit to win the match 3-2.

However, Knee came back strong in the third match. He quickly took a 3-0 lead, and Atif was unable to mount a comeback. Both players stuck with the same characters for the third match, and the same story continued in the fourth game. Knee, at this point had won 6 rounds in a row against Atif.

Now, it all came down to this final match. Both stayed with their respective picks. Atif, got the first round, but still, it came down to the wire, with score being 2-2. Atif, in this last round was able to get a good start, and ended up defeating Knee, even after loosing 8 rounds out of the last 11.

Here, we saw how Atif’s performance against Knee was a clinic in Tekken 7. He showed that he is one of the best players in the world, and he is a serious contender to win any tournament he enters. We heard the commentators talk about how Atif tends to give into pressure, but not in this match!

Pakistan had now dominated Korea, with a score of 3-0. To put it in simple words, this is a major victory for Pakistan, as they have now beaten two of the world’s top teams in the Gamers8 Tekken 7 Nations Cup, and have secured at least $200,000. They will face the winners of the lower bracket final now.

How Arsalan Broke Off Atif’s Losing Streak

Arsalan revealed how he broke the streak of Atif losing six rounds in a row by choosing an open stage with Akuma. He said how “Bryan is too good at wall stage; he doesn’t need meters to build wall pressure.”

So, he thought if he could could keep the fight in the open, Pakistan would have a better chance of winning, and Arsalan’s strategy worked perfectly. He was able to keep the fight in the open, and Atif was able to use his Akuma’s long-range attacks to keep Bryan at bay. As a result, Atif was able to win the match and break the losing streak.

Atif Butt was undoubtedly the star of the show for Pakistan, winning all of his matches this tournament. Pakistan is now the favorites to win the tournament, and they will be looking to add to their already impressive trophy cabinet.
