Will the Alarm Ring During a Phone Call on Android?

On Android, we found out that things were a bit different. Most of the phones reacted the same way as an iPhone, the alarm rang during the phone call. However, Samsung was a bit different. An alarm notification did pop up during the phone call but there was no alarm sound.

As soon as we ended the call, the alarm started to ring. So, in case you were listening to the call directly through your ear and not looking at the screen, you will not be notified regarding your alarm.

Will the Other Person Hear My Alarm?

There is no set answer to this question as it is dependent on multiple factors. In a generalized case, the other person will not hear your alarm, as its noise will be faint compared to your own voice.

However, if your alarm ringtone is very loud, or you are in an environment where there is an echo the other person might hear it as the sound will be picked up by the microphone. To completely prevent the other person from hearing your alarm, you can mute the call while you Dismiss or Snooze your alarm.

In today’s world, everyone wants their photos to look perfect, especially with the popularity of social media platforms.

Sometimes, in the picture, something or someone you didn’t want might be ruining the perfect photo you captured. Although iPhones are great for taking pictures, surprisingly, they don’t have a built-in tool for removing these unwanted items from your photos.

No need to worry, though! We’re here to help you learn how to remove these unwanted objects from your photos using your iPhone. We’ll talk about using Google Photo’s unique tool and other apps that can help. Keep reading to learn how to make your pictures look even better!

Understanding the Object Eraser tool in iPhone’s Markup

Have you ever used the Markup tool on your iPhone? You’ll notice it has two different erasers: Pixel Eraser and Object Eraser. These erasers aren’t like those in other editing apps and tools, including Pixel’s Magic Eraser.

Each Eraser in the Markup tool does something different to help make editing easy for you. The Object Eraser is there to help you eliminate things like notes, lines, shapes, or small drawings you added to a picture while using the Markup tool.

It makes erasing easy – instead of moving your finger all over the screen to remove a line or shape, you have to slide once with the Object Eraser, and the whole object disappears. Hence the name “object” eraser.

For example, if you drew a wavy line on your picture while editing and want to remove it, tap it once with the Object Eraser.

The Pixel Eraser is a bit different. It works more like the erasers we’re used to, but it’s only for Markup. It won’t remove a whole drawing or note with one tap; you must move it over the parts you want to erase a bit at a time. It will only erase parts of a line (that you slide over) instead of removing it as a whole once.

It’s precise and meant for fine edits which requires pixel-level precision, hence the name “pixel” eraser.

2. Circle or brush the object multiple times

After erasing an object, go over the same area several times to ensure all bits of the unwanted item are removed. Doing this helps you eliminate any leftover traces, ensuring a cleaner final image. Zooming in will also be handy for this step.

3. Avoid removing objects in the foreground

These tools do best work on items in the background or not the main focus of your picture. If you try to remove something in the foreground or something attached to your photo’s main subject, the final result might not look good.

4. Make use of the undo and redo options

Did you erase something you didn’t mean to? No need to start over! Just use the undo and redo functions. These options let you step back and fix mistakes without having to do everything again, making the editing process smoother and easier.

Final Thoughts

iPhones don’t have a built-in tool for removing objects from photos, but don’t worry! You can use Google Photo’s Magic Eraser or apps like TouchRetouch and YouCam Perfect.

You can use these to quickly and effectively edit out irrelevant subjects or mistakes from your photos. For the best results, zoom in and carefully pick the items you want to remove.

It helps if you go over the area more than once. But be careful not to remove important parts of your main picture subject! And if you erase something by mistake, undo it or redo it to fix it.

With these easy tips, you’ll be a pro at using eraser tools on your iPhone, making all your photos look great!

Are you facing the “This network is operating on Wi-Fi channels in use by several other nearby networks” error on your iOS when trying to connect to a Wi-Fi network? This error mostly occurs on devices running iOS 15 or above. Today we’ll be outlining how and why this issue arises, along with its potential fixes.

This error is very common on devices running iOS 15 | Reddit

Why Does This Error Occur?

There are a lot of reasonings and explanations for this error online, but we dug deeper. Our diagnosis of the issue has revealed 3 major causes:

1. Wireless Interference

Any wireless technology makes use of waves being transmitted at high frequencies. For Bluetooth, and most Wi-Fi networks, the frequency is 2.4 GHz. Since both these wireless technologies transmit signals at the same frequencies, some signals end up overlapping and colliding, causing poor and unstable connections on both ends.

To provide a fix for this, some Wi-Fi networks have begun transmitting signals at frequencies of 5 GHz. This allows for less interference and an overall better connection. However, since this technology is still recent, only modern mobile devices are capable of intercepting wireless signals at 5 GHz.

2. MAC Filtering

Every electronic device capable of wireless connection has a unique identification code known as the MAC address. When that device connects to a network, it does so by revealing its MAC address to the network, so the network can make sure whether it is harmful or not.

MAC filtering can be configured from your router’s settings

MAC filtering is a rule enforced by the router to minimize the risks of unauthorized connections. By setting up MAC filtering, only specific devices may be allowed to connect to the network. The router does this by cross-checking the MAC address of the device trying to connect with the criteria you’ve laid out. If it does not satisfy the criteria, it is not allowed to connect.

3. Private Wi-Fi Address

Some Wi-Fi networks have Private Wi-Fi Address enabled when connecting to known networks. This has been known to cause issues when trying to reconnect to the network and is what’s probably causing the issue.

Solutions

Now that we’re done with the causes, it’s finally time to put an end to this annoying problem.

1. Restarting the router

Most of the time, it’s just a run-of-the-mill glitch that can be fixed by simply restarting the router. This procedure is also recommended in the error pop-up. Just plug out and re-plug your router from the power source or restart it using the portal if you have that option.

You can also reboot the router from your router’s settings page

2. Restarting your iOS device

It is possible that instead of the router glitching, it could just be your iOS device. Restart it and try reconnecting to the network if the issue is resolved. To restart your iPhone, press the volume down button and the power button at the same time, then slide the power off toggle. To turn it back on just hold the power button till you see the Apple logo on the screen.

3. Confirm whether you’re running the latest version of iOS

If you’re running an outdated version of iOS, that could be what’s causing the problem. Update your device to the latest version as newer versions include bug fixes and provide a more stable experience.

Follow Apple’s official guide on how to update iOS on iPhone, it’s pretty straightforward.

4. Disabling MAC filtering

MAC filtering must be disabled from the router settings; it’s usually found under the Firewall options. This can help your device to connect to the network more easily. You can contact your ISP to inquire about how to disable MAC Filtering on your specific router, or simply refer to manual/instructions online to see how it’s done. We suggest consulting a professional if you’re not confident.

5. Turning off Private Wi-Fi Address

As we’ve mentioned in our list of reasons, if the option for Private Wi-Fi Address is enabled, it can be the culprit. Here’s how to disable that option:

  1. Open up the Settings app and select Wi-Fi.
    Select Wi-FI
  2. Now, tap on the More Info button present next to your network name.

  3. Lastly, toggle the Private Wi-Fi Address off.
Toggle the switch off by tapping on it

6. Creating an alternate network

Creating a separate network can provide some clues as to whether wireless interference is indeed at play here. Access your router settings and create an entirely new network that uses different bands and channels and check whether your device manages to connect to it or not.

You can use YouTube as a guide for creating a new network, after confirming what brand of router you own. Alternatively, just contact your ISP and ask them how to do it.

To check what channel you are using, you can use Apple’s own AirPort Utility app. Here’s how to check the band using the AirPort utility:

  1. Download AirPort Utility from the App Store.
Download Airport Utility from the App Store
  2. After it has finished downloading, open the Settings app, scroll down and find Airport Utility option.
Find Airport Utility and select it
  3. Next, enable the Wi-Fi Scanner option from the options presented.
    Toggle the Wi-Fi Scanner on
  4. Now, go back to your Home screen and open up the AirPort Utility app.
  5. Choose Wi-Fi Scan from the top-right corner.
Tap on Wi-Fi Scan on the top-right corner
  6. Tap on Scan on the pop-up that appears.
    Tap on Scan
  7. Finally, you’ll be able to see the channel nearby Wi-Fi networks are operating on.
You’ll be able to see the what channels Wi-Fi networks in the vicinity are functioning on

7. Switching location services on and off

Many users have reported that this error can be fixed by just toggling your location services off, trying to connect to the Wi-Fi network, and then switching it on again. Location services have been known to generate connection issues. At any rate, here’s how to switch off location services on your iOS device:

  1. Open up Settings, scroll down and select Privacy.
    Select Privacy
  2. Next, tap on Location Services.
Location Services should be the first option on the list
  3. Switch the Location Services off.
    Toggle the switch off

8. Resetting network settings

Resetting network settings will provide you with a clean slate for your iOS device networks by erasing all data related to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other such settings. Of course, make sure you remember all you Wi-Fi passwords before going ahead with this method.

To rest your network settings, follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Open the Settings app and select General.
    Select General
  2. Then, scroll down and select Reset.
    Tap on Reset
  3. Next, choose Reset Network Settings from the list of options.
    Choose Reset Network Settings
  4. Lastly, tap on Reset on the confirmation dialog box that appears.
    Tap on Reset

Conclusion

Encountering network errors on iOS devices, especially those running iOS 15 and 16, can be a frustrating experience. However, as outlined in this guide, there are several actionable solutions to address this issue. While the methods provided here should resolve the error for most users, it’s essential to remember that technology is not always predictable.

If these solutions don’t yield the desired results, it might be prudent to consult with Apple Support or your network provider for more specialized assistance.

FAQs

What causes this error?

In most cases, the culprit is wireless interferences from other networks. Other causes include MAC filtering being enabled on router settings, private Wi-Fi address enabled on iOS settings and others.

Why is Wi-Fi frequency and channel important?

A different frequency and channel allow for less interference from other wireless signals and help your network’s signals be more easily identifiable by devices.

Why should I create a separate network?

Creating a separate network can alleviate the traffic on your existing network and help diagnose whether your network is indeed the issue.

Does this error occur on iOS 17?

So far, there have been no reports of this error being encountered in iOS 17, so hopefully Apple has patched it out.

iPhones are known for their security. Over the years, Apple has brought out regular updates and developments to ensure their users don’t have to worry about losing their personal data.

Despite these constant security improvements, iPhones aren’t immune to internet exploits. If cybercriminals can deploy these malicious items into your iPhones, they can potentially gain access to all your information.

Additionally, spyware can be remotely installed on your devices giving hackers complete control over your iPhone without even touching it.

The thought of someone spying on your iPhone is pretty scary. In this article, we have gathered up a few tested methods to detect and prevent hackers from accessing your iPhone remotely.

How Can Someone Access Your iPhone Remotely?

iPhone | Unsplash

Even after taking precautions like using passcodes or face locks, cybercriminals still have pretty interesting tricks up their sleeves.

1. Malicious Apps

Apple has a strict review process for what app makes it to their store. Still, hackers have been able to disguise their harmful exploits in simple entertaining apps.

Once these apps are on your phone, they can access not only your personal information but even your camera and microphone. That’s why whenever apps ask you for permissions give it a good thought and then accept them.

Maps asking for location permission on iPhone | Apple

Additionally, when installing apps even from the Play Store on Android devices it’s recommended to download from trusted sources with positive user reviews. Refrain from installing APK files if you’re not sure or don’t know exactly what you’re doing.

Similarly, stick to official apps on the App Store and don’t get IPA files unless confident.

2. Phishing

Phishing refers to the act of sending fake emails and misleading URLs to lure users into opening them or downloading harmful files. Usually, these messages are made to look like they are from reputable sources but in reality, are from cyber attackers.

Hence, if you ever get a message or email asking you to open a specific URL or send them your information, don’t open these phishing links. Be cautious and avoid opening any suspicious links.

3. Hacked iCloud Account

iCloud is a direct link to everything that is on your iPhone. If your account details are compromised hackers can get access to your passwords, and settings, and even track you through Find My iPhone.”

iCloud | Apple

If you notice any strange behavior with your iCloud including passwords not working or strange login notifications, report it immediately, change your password and ideally log out of everything and only manually log back in into the most important devices.

Signs Your iPhone Is Being Accessed Remotely

If someone is remotely accessing your iPhone, there’s a good chance your phone will show one or more of these signs.

  • Quick Battery Drainage: If your iPhone is suddenly running out of battery life more quickly than usual, it can be a sign that some malicious apps are running in the background.
  • Higher Data Usage: If you’re noticing an unexpected increase in data usage that is because your iPhone is sending your information to the hacker’s phone.
  • Phone Heats Up: Due to these harmful and resourceful background processes, most iPhones also show signs of heating up.
  • Strange Pop-Ups: Although this one isn’t common if your iPhone is showing strange pop-ups, it’s certain that you have malware installed.
  • Password and Account Changes: If you aren’t able to log in through your usual passwords, it’s an immediate red flag that someone has accessed your credentials.
  • Performance Slowdown: Overall, if your phone is showing signs of laggy and slow performance then your phone is running more background apps than it can handle.

We also have a detailed guide on how to see if your phone is tapped that you should check out to learn more about the nuances of how hackers covertly get control of your phone and spy on you.

How to See Who Has Access to Your iPhone?

Now, let’s look at the ways you can determine if someone is accessing your iPhone secretly:

1. Check For Unauthorized Sign-ins

Within the settings, you can find all the devices connected to your iPhone. If you find a device that isn’t supposed to be there then follow these steps:

  1. Head to your iPhone’s settings and tap on your Apple ID.

  2. Scroll down to the end and you’ll find all the devices connected to your Apple ID.
    View your Devices
  3. To remove a device just tap on the unknown device and select the “Remove from account” option.

2. Face or Touch ID Change

You can also verify whether there are any unexpected alternate Face ID profiles or extra fingerprints set up on your device by following these steps:

  1. Open the “Settings” on your iPhone
    Choose Settings
  2. Once you are in, scroll to the “Touch ID & Passcode.”
    Look for un-recognized passcodes
  3. If you see any extra fingerprints or face IDs, tap on the “Reset Face ID” option to delete them.

    Tap Reset Face ID

After deleting your existing Touch or Face ID, replace them with newer and secure ones.

3. Two-Factor Authentication

If you’ve enabled two-factor authentication, take a look at your list of trusted devices to make sure you recognize all of them. If you haven’t enabled it yet, you can do so by following these steps:

  1. Launch your iPhone’s settings and tap on your Apple ID.
    Tap your Apple ID
  2. Next, press the “Password & Security” option.
Go to sign in & security
  3. Within the “Sign-In & Security” settings, enable the “Two-Factor Authentication” to receive an email or SMS every time someone tries to log into your device.
    Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Carefully double-check authentication requests to ensure they aren’t from a device you didn’t authorize.

4. Monitoring Devices via Find My iPhone

Find My iPhone” is a built-in feature that helps in locating a lost or misplaced iPhone. However, it can also be a handy tool to detect unauthorized access.

When someone has your Apple ID credentials, they can potentially track your location through Find My iPhone or even play sounds, mark it as lost, or erase it. If someone is maliciously tracking you, you might notice your device unexpectedly playing the “Find My” sound or receiving a notification that your device has been marked as lost.

To check:

  • Open the “Find My” app on another Apple device or access it via the web at iCloud.com.
  • Check for any unfamiliar devices listed under your Apple ID. You will need to log in for this.
  • If you notice any device that shouldn’t be there, consider it a red flag and immediately remove it.

If you’re experiencing any errors while connecting to iCloud on your iPhone, then you won’t be able to use any of the iCloud features. These include iCloud backup, iCloud photos, iCloud drive, and more. Moreover, your iPhone won’t be backed up to iCloud, which is another disadvantage.

So it’s needless to say that you need to get rid of the iCloud error to use its features again. All the solutions for this issue are elementary and don’t require any pre-requisite knowledge.

Before we move on to the step-by-step guide, I’ll explain how each method works below.

How do I fix error connecting to iPhone?

  1. Check iCloud System Status: If the service is down, then it’s apparent that you can’t connect to iCloud or use other features. This doesn’t happen often and usually gets resolved within a few hours. So, make sure to take a look at the iCloud system status before trying out other solutions.
  2. Enter the Correct Password: Ensure that the password for your iCloud ID that you’re entering is correct. If the password was case-sensitive or contained numbers, then don’t forget to include them. Secondly, if you’re entering the correct password but are still unable to connect, change your password and try again.
  3. Connect to a Different Wi-Fi Network: If your WiFi signals are weak or the speed is low, you won’t be able to connect to iCloud. In such cases, either connect to a different WiFi network or use your cellular data to connect to iCloud without any errors.
  4. Restart your iPhone: Restarting the device is often recommended to solve connection issues as it gets rid of any glitches or bugs affecting the mobile. So, before trying to hard reset or factory reset your iPhone, try a simple restart to see if it works.
  5. Force Restart/Hard Reset your iPhone: Force restarting is another way to refresh your iPhone if it isn’t responding or is unable to connect to a service like iCloud. This is different than a normal restart. So if the normal one doesn’t fix the issue, try a forced restart.
  6. Factory Reset your iPhone: A factory reset basically clears all the data from your iPhone, and you will have to set it up from the start. But before doing this, make sure your data is backed up. If you’re unable to sign in to iCloud, then use third-party software for the backup.

1. Connect to a Different Wi-Fi Network or Cellular Data

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select WiFi.

  1. Tap on a different/secondary WiFi network and enter its password.

  1. Now try connecting to iCloud again.

Alternatively, connect to your cellular data as follows:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap on Mobile or Cellular data.

  1. Turn on the cellular data and connect to iCloud again.

2. Restart your iPhone

To restart the iPhone X and later:

  1. Hold the power/side button and one of the volume buttons together.
  2. Drag the power-off slider.
  3. Wait for 30 seconds, and then restart your iPhone by pressing and holding the side button.

To restart the iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd Gen), 6, 7, and 8:

  1. Hold the power/side button.
  2. Drag the power-off slider and wait for 30 seconds.
  3. Press and hold the same side button again to restart your iPhone.

To restart the iPhone SE (1st Gen), 5, and earlier:

  1. Hold the power button located on the top.
  2. Drag the power-off slider and wait for 30 seconds.
  3. Restart your iPhone by pressing and holding the top power button again.

3. Force Restart/Hard Reset your iPhone

To force restart iPhones with iOS version 16 or 17 (iPhone SE 2nd & 3rd Gen, 8, X, 11, 12, 13, and 14):

  1. Press and release the volume-up button.
  2. Press and release the volume-down button.
  3. Press and hold the power button.
  4. Release the power button when the Apple logo shows up.

To force restart the iPhone 7:

  1. Hold the power button together with the volume-down button.
  2. Release both when the Apple logo shows up.

To force restart the iPhone SE, 6, and 5:

  1. Hold the home and power buttons at once.
  2. The Apple logo will appear in 20–30 seconds.
  3. Release the buttons once it does.

4. Factory Reset your iPhone

Before factory resetting the iPhone, back up your data. Since you are getting an error connecting to iCloud, the other two options to back up the device are through a Mac or PC. I’ll list the steps for both of them below:

To back up an iPhone using a Mac:

  1. Open a Finder window on your Mac with macOS Catalina or later.
  2. Connect your iPhone to your Mac computer or laptop with a USB cable.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions if asked to enter your passcode.
  4. Select your iPhone on the computer.
  5. Click on Back Up Now.

  1. Once done, you can check the date of the last backup.

To back up an iPhone using a PC:

  1. Download iTunes on your PC and open it.
  2. Connect your PC to your iPhone via a USB cable.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions if asked to enter your passcode.
  4. Select your iPhone in iTunes.

  1. Click Summary and select Back Up Now.

  1. Once done, you can check the date of the last backup.

Now to factory reset your iPhone, do the following:

  1. Go to Settings > General.

  1. Select Transfer or Reset Device.

  1. Select Erase all content and settings.

  1. If asked, enter your passcode or the password for your Apple ID.
  2. Follow the onscreen instructions.
  3. Wait until the iPhone resets.
  4. Afterward, set it up again and connect to your iCloud now.

If you are still experiencing any errors while connecting to iCloud, then contact Apple support and let them know about the issue. Their customer support is quick and often solves the problem.

If you recently switched to Apple Music and noticed that the volume of songs has decreased significantly, you’re not alone. Apple Music seems to adjust the playback volume between songs or for the entire app as if you tweaked a certain setting.

Apple Music Volume Low

This occurs due to various reasons, most of which are related to the features meant to enhance your streaming experience. But the problem may also occur because most of the music nowadays is mixed up with a natural dynamic range, while others are highly compressed. And when the same volume setting is applied, the latter might come across as excessively loud, while the former may seem disproportionately soft.

Here’s all you need to know about it.

Reasons Why Apple Music Volume Is Low

  • Poor Bluetooth Connection: One of the most common causes of Apple Music playing at a low or undesirable level is a poor connection between the iPhone and your audio device. Distance or nearby devices can cause interference in the connection, hence leading to lower sound quality.
  • Misconfigured Settings: Settings like Equalizer and Sound Check can impact the audio experience. Therefore, it’s important to optimize such settings and adjust them accordingly to enhance the audio quality. Similarly, certain features such as Headphones Safety, Spatial Audio, or Dolby Atmos can also create volume issues.
  • Dynamic Music Production: Various artists create music with a wide dynamic range, others shift towards a natural range. For this reason, some songs contain compressed loud parts or may even incorporate high bass levels. Depending on the music production, a user can experience low-quality sounds.

How to Fix Apple Music Low Volume?

1. Check Default Volume Levels

The first thing you would want to do if your songs are playing at low volume is to check the default volume levels of your device. You may have unconsciously decreased the volume of your device, hence why this is more of a safety measure than a fix to avoid tweaking the settings for no reason.

For iPhone:

  1. Launch the Control Center on your iPhone by swiping down from the right corner of the screen.
  2. Adjust the Volume slider to full. Now check to see if the volume issue is fixed.
Control Center iPhone

For Mac:

  1. Press and hold down Shift + Option + Volume Up keys simultaneously to maximize the volume.
Mac keyboard
  1. Alternatively, you may also click on the Volume icon from the menu bar and adjust the slider to your desired volume level.

2. Disable Headphone Safety

To avoid damaging your ears, most devices only allow headphones to play audio below a certain decibel limit after which it gives you a warning. Apple on the other hand has dedicated an entire feature for this which prevents playing music beyond this limit.

However, if the volume is too low for you, you can always disable the feature. Here’s how:

  1. First, go to the Settings app on your device.
  2. Then, scroll down and select Sound & Haptics.
Sounds & Haptics
  1. Locate Headphone Safety under Headphone Audio and tap on it.
Headphone Safety
  1. Next, switch off the toggle for Reduce Loud Sounds.

3. Disable Dolby Atmos

While the Dolby Atmos feature has been integrated into Apple systems for its enhanced 3D spacious audio experience, the sound quality is occasionally compromised for the sake of it. Although this effect often goes unnoticed by users, it becomes more noticeable when the original quality of the song is not as robust.

Fortunately, you can disable Dolby Atmos for Apple Music by following the steps below:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Then, scroll down and tap on Music.
  3. From there, go to Dolby Atmos.
Doly Atmos
  1. Select the Off option to disable Dolby Atmos.

4. Disable Sound Check

Since different songs have varying loudness, the Sound Check feature adjusts the volume of each so that all the songs play at the same loudness. The target is to achieve consistency in playback volume. This helps especially if you’re shifting from genre to genre or play your entire music library in shuffle.

However, if the feature is compromising the quality of the original loudness for you, you can always turn it off. The feature is available on all Apple devices, so refer to the specified instructions for your device.

For iPhone:

  1. First, go to Settings.
  2. Then, tap on Music.
Apple Music
  1. Under Playback, turn off the toggle for Sound Check.
Sound Check

For Mac:

  1. Start by launching the Apple Music app.
  2. Then, from the menu bar, select Music.
  3. Now, click on Preferences.
Apple Music Volume Low
  1. Then, go to the Playback tab.
  2. Uncheck the box for Sound Check.
Sound Check
  1. Finally, click OK to save the changes.

5. Change EQ to Late Night

Don’t like a song solely because it has low bass or high treble? Then, the Equalizer feature on Apple devices is definitely for you. Unfortunately, many users have found this feature to be the culprit of the Apple Music volume low issue.

Here’s how you can fix it:

  1. Go to the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down to Music and tap on it.
  3. Under the Playback or Audio section, choose EQ.
Equalizer iPhone
  1. Finally, tap on Off.
Apple Music Volume Low

On the other hand, if you don’t want to disable Equalizer, here’s another thing you can try:

  1. Launch Settings on your device.
  2. Scroll down and select Music.
  3. Under the Playback or Audio section, tap on EQ.
  4. Then, select the Late Night option.

6. Disable Spatial Audio

This unique feature applies frequency-adjusting algorithms to your music so that they appear more spacious and roomy. It results in audio being perceived as lower than it actually is. Disabling this feature has seemingly increased the loudness quality for many users.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Start by making sure your AirPods are connected to the iPhone.
  2. Then, open the Control Center by swiping down from the right corner.
  3. Tap and hold the Volume slider.
Control Center iPhone
  1. Next, tap on Spatial Audio situated at the lower right side of the screen.
  2. To disable this option, tap on Off.
Spatial Audio

7. Turn Off Lossless Audio

Compressed audio files are less louder than the original files. For this reason, it is best to switch to a Lossless format as it preserves the original quality and thus the loudness of your music. However, it consumes more data and space on your device.

  1. Open the Music app.
  2. Then, go to Music from the bar.
  3. Click on Preferences.
  4. Next, go to the Playback tab.
  5. Check the box for Lossless Audio.
Lossless Audio
Hi-Res Lossless
  1. Lastly, open the drop-down menu for Streaming and Download and select either Lossless or Hi-Res Lossless.

8. Re-Pair Audio Device

External or Bluetooth audio devices can also fall prey to glitches from time to time. The connection between the two devices may also get disrupted for several reasons. Therefore, if you’re using an audio device to listen to your Apple Music, try refreshing the connection by disconnecting and re-pairing the Bluetooth device again.

Here’s how:

  1. Launch the Settings app on your device.
  2. Go to Bluetooth.
  3. Tap on the info icon next to the audio device connected to your iPhone.
  4. Then, tap on the Forget This Device option at the end.
Apple Music Volume Low
  1. Choose Forget Device to confirm your action.
Apple Music Volume Low
  1. Once the device disconnects, turn off the toggle for Bluetooth.
Control Center iPhone
  1. Now switch it back on.
  2. From the available devices, select the audio device to pair it with your iPhone.
  3. After the pairing is complete, check to see if Apple Music is playing at the desired volume.

Apple Music Volume Low - FAQs

Does the iPhone limit volume?

If you’ve been listening to audio at a high level connected to the same device for a considerable time, the Apple device will send out a notification stating it is harmful. This will automatically lower the volume limit the next time you are connected to an audio device. However, you also have the option to increase the volume limit based on your choice.

How do I change the maximum volume limit on my iPhone?

The iPhone allows its users to change their maximum volume limit according to their preferences. If you wish to adjust the volume limit for your device, head over to the Settings app. Then, navigate to Music and select Volume Limit. You can drag the slider to the level you want to set as the maximum limit for your iPhone.

People using the older Apple watch series, usually 3 or 4, come across an issue where the watch does not connect to WiFi. This means that you won’t be able to use any of the online features of the watch.

This includes sending or receiving messages, making or attending calls, using Siri, checking the weather, and more. Undoubtedly, this is an annoying problem for those who often use the watch for their day-to-day affairs.

Having said that, if you’re going through the same problem, then there are multiple solutions that will fix it for you. Below are six working fixes to get your Apple Watch connected to WiFi again.

How Do I Connect My Apple Watch to WiFi?

  1. Change WiFi Band to 2.4 GHz: Apple watch series 5 or older only work on 2.4 GHz bandwidth. They won’t work if your internet runs on a 5 GHz WiFi. Therefore, make sure you change your bandwidth settings.
  2. Restart Both the iPhone and Watch: Sometimes the issue happens because of an internal glitch in either the iPhone or the Apple Watch. So restarting both of them will solve it more often than not.
  3. Connect your Watch with iPhone via Bluetooth and Turn on Airplane Mode: This a method that has worked for many users and includes turning on the airplane mode after reconnecting your iPhone and Apple watch together. I’ll mention its steps in detail below.
  4. Delete the Lookout Mobile Security app: The Lookout app is one of those that interfere with your WiFi and stop the watch from connecting to your iPhone. In short, it mistakes the watch as being harmful. So, removing this app from your iPhone will fix the issue.
  5. Update the iPhone and Apple Watch Software: Always make sure that you’re running the latest iOS and watchOS versions. If you have not updated them, make sure to do it and then connect your Apple Watch to WiFi.
  6. Backup and Reset iPhone: Resetting the iPhone resets everything and you’ll have to set up your mobile from the start. However, it will fix this problem that you’re dealing with.

1. Change the WiFi Band to 2.4 GHz

  1. Enter your router’s login URL or your default IP address.
  2. Enter your login credentials.
  3. Go to Wireless > Advanced.
  4. Click on the drop-down arrow next to Band and select 2.4 GHz.

2. Restart Both the iPhone and Watch

To restart iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, and later:

  1. Press and hold any volume button along with the power button until the power-off slider shows up.
  2. Drag the slider to turn off your device. It can take up to 30 seconds.
  3. Now to restart the device, press and hold the power button.

To restart iPhone 6, 7, 8, and SE:

  1. Press and hold the side power button.
  2. Drag the slider and wait for 30 seconds.
  3. Now turn on your iPhone by pressing and holding the same power button.

To restart the iPhone 5:

  1. Press and hold the power button on the top.
  2. Drag the slider and wait for 30 seconds.
  3. Now press and hold the power button again to restart the iPhone.

Here’s how to restart your Apple Watch with watchOS 9:

  1. Remove your Apple Watch from charging if it is charging.
  2. Now press and keep holding the side button until the power icon appears on the top-right of the screen.
  3. Tao the power icon.
  4. Drag the slider that says Power Off.
  5. Now to restart, press and hold the same side button until the Apple logo appears.

To restart your Apple Watch with watchOS 8 or earlier:

  1. Remove the watch from charging.
  2. Press and hold the watch’s side button until the Power Off slider shows up.
  3. Drag the slider to the right.
  4. To restart, press and hold the same side button.

3. Connect your Watch with your iPhone via Bluetooth and Turn on Airplane Mode

  1. Connect your iPhone to WiFi.
  2. Connect your iPhone and watch via Bluetooth.
  3. Now navigate to Settings > Wifi on your iPhone.

  1. Tap the “i” icon next to your WiFi and select Forget this network.

  1. Keep the watch and iPhone connected via Bluetooth and now reconnect your iPhone to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network.
  2. Now turn on airplane mode on your iPhone.

  1. Now see if the WiFi icon appears on the top left of your watch’s control center. If it does, then this means the watch is now connected to WiFi.
  2. Wait for a few seconds and then turn off the airplane mode on your iPhone.
  3. Now see if your Apple watch is connecting to WiFi or not.

4. Delete the Lookout Mobile Security App

  1. Locate and then tap and hold the Lookout app.

  1. Tap on the minus sign and then tap Delete App to uninstall it.

5. Update the iPhone and Apple Watch Software

The current watchOS 9 is only compatible with Apple Watch Ultra, 1st Generation Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch Series 4, and the later versions. Secondly, you’d need at least an iPhone SE 2nd Generation, iPhone 8 or later having iOS 16 to install the update.

Before updating your watch, make sure its charging is at least 50% and connect your iPhone to WiFi. Afterward, update your iPhone to the latest version before updating the Apple Watch. Here are the steps for this:

  1. Go to Settings > General.

  1. Select Software Update.

  1. Install the latest update.

Once done, here’s how to update your Apple Watch using your iPhone:

  1. Launch the Apple Watch app and tap on My Watch tab.
  2. Select General > Software Update.

  1. Install the update.
  2. Enter your iPhone or Apple Watch passcode, if asked.
  3. The update can take 5 minutes to an hour.
  4. Once done, connect the Apple watch to WiFi again and see whether it is connecting or not.

You can also update the Apple Watch without your iPhone in the following way:

  1. Connect your Watch to WiFi and open the Settings app on your watch.
  2. Go to General > Software Update.
  3. Install if any new update is available.

6. Backup and Reset the iPhone

  1. Go to Settings and tap on your name.

  1. Select iCloud > iCloud Backup.
  2. Tap Backup Now and don’t turn off your WiFi.

Now to reset the iPhone, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > General.

  1. Select Transfer or Reset device.

  1. Tap Erase all content and settings.

  1. Tap Continue and enter your iPhone’s passcode.
  2. Wait for the backup to finish and enter your Apple ID password.
  3. Set up your iPhone and restore your data.
  4. Now see if your Apple watch is connecting to WiFi or not.

If your Apple Watch still doesn’t connect to your iPhone, then contact Apple Support and ask them for further help.

At some point, we all forget our account passwords. Resetting the passwords for online accounts is pretty simple but what if you forget the password to your Mac? If you did, then the computer wouldn’t open, and you’d be stuck on the login screen.

This mostly happens when the password is too difficult or auto-generated. Similarly, if you’re opening your Mac PC or laptop after a long time, then there are chances that you might forget the login credentials.

However, there’s no need to worry since there are multiple ways through which you can reset your Mac password if you forget it. The next section will feature the details of the methods and their steps.

But before that, if you did set up a password hint for your account’s password, then click the “?” icon on the login screen for the hint. It can help you remember the password and log in to your Mac.

How Can I Set a New Password for my Mac?

Firstly, you should try using your Apple ID for this purpose. If you didn’t set it up, then use FileVault, recovery mode, or another admin account to reset your password.

But before moving on to them, make sure you’re at the login screen on your Mac. You can go there by restarting, powering on, or logging out of your Mac. You should see the Shut Down, Restart, and Sleep buttons on the window.

Now, once you’re here, do the following:

  1. Select your account.
  2. Enter any password three times.
  3. Select Restart and show password reset options.

Once done, use any of the methods below to reset your password.

Method 1: Using Apple ID

Having an Apple ID makes the job easier. So if you entered your Apple ID during the initial setup of your Mac, you should see the “Reset it (password) using Apple ID” option.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. After the Mac restarts, click “Reset it using Apple ID”.

  1. Enter your Apple ID and password.

  1. Enter the six-digit verification code you got on your other Apple device and select Verify.

  1. Click on the user profile you want to change the password for and click Next.

  1. Enter the new password and click Next.

  1. Select Restart, and now log in with your new password.

Method 2: Using the FileVault Recovery Key

If you turned on FileVault on your Mac, then you must have a Recovery Key that will allow you to change your Mac’s password very easily. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. After entering the wrong password three times and restarting Mac, select “Reset it using your recovery key”.

  1. Enter the Recovery Key of your FileVault and click Next.

  1. Create a new password and set a password hint before restarting the Mac.

Method 3: Using the ResetPassword Command in Recovery Mode

If nothing works, then there’s always Recovery Mode to help you out. A simple command in Terminal will allow you to change your Mac’s password in a few seconds.

Here’s how to enter recovery mode if your Mac is Intel-based:

  1. Restart your PC.

Common Scenarios

  • MacBooks of all generations are reported to show slow charging, even brand-new ones.
  • macOS updates can trigger the charging problem.
  • Battery Preferences may show a long charging time of around 5, 10, or 20 hours.
  • The charge may decrease even when the MacBook is plugged in.
  • The charger’s charging light may turn orange.
  • Power Information reveals input wattages significantly lower than the charger’s capacity (e.g., 12 watts).
  • MacBook may experience heating up and sluggishness.

How to Fix a MacBook that is Charging Slow

Firstly, we will try to fix the slow charging on the MacBook with less invasive methods. If that fails, then we will move to methods such as reseating internal components or performing an internet-based macOS recovery.

1. Restart the MacBook

A malfunction in the power modules of the MacBook will not allow it to charge at regular speed. To overcome this, restart the MacBook.

Restart

  1. Open the Apple Menu and select Restart.

    Restart the MacBook
    Restart the MacBook
  2. Upon restart, check if the charging problem is solved.

  2. Put it on charging and wait for an hour.|
  3. Power on the MacBook and repeat the process twice.
  4. At last, power on the MacBook and see if its charging issue is cleared.

2. Boot the MacBook with Bare Minimum

If a MacBook is drawing excessive power due to a connected hardware device, the charging process will be prolonged because the charger can only supply the amount of current required by the hardware. In this case, starting up the MacBook with the minimal essential components will resolve the issue.

  1. Power off the MacBook and disconnect the devices connected to the MacBook (such as an external display or printer).

Disconnect External Devices from the MacBook
Disconnect External Devices from the MacBook
  2. Power on the MacBook and see if it is charging correctly. If so, connect back the devices one by one and find the offending one.

3. Clean the Charging Port of the MacBook

If debris or dust has gone into the charging port of the MacBook, the charger will fail to properly connect with the MacBook or will keep on connecting/disconnecting, thus charging slowly. Here, cleaning the charging port will do the trick.

  1. Disconnect your charger from the MacBook and power it off.
  2. Use a toothpick to clean the charging port and power on the MacBook.

Clean the Charging Port of the MacBook

Slightly Wiggle the Charging Cable till its Light Turns Green
  4. Once the light turns green, see if the charging issue is resolved.

4. Update the macOS of the MacBook to the Latest Build

The MacBook will charge slowly due to a bug in the macOS. Updating the OS of your MacBook will clear out any such bugs and thus solve the problem.

  1. Fully charge the battery of your MacBook (it will take time on slow charging) and create a backup of it.
  2. Open the MacBook’s Settings and go to General > Software Update.

    Check for macOS Updates
    Check for macOS Updates
  3. Check for available updates and install the updates shown.
  4. Restart the MacBook and see if the charging speed is back to normal.

5. Check for a Conflicting Application

If the MacBook’s resources are being excessively utilized by an application such as Desktop Docker or Logic Pro X, the laptop will divert all the available power to execute the said application. This will certainly slow down the laptop’s charging speed. This can be fixed by closing any resource-heavy application.

Close Running Applications and Processes

  1. Close all the running applications (such as Desktop Docker or Logic Pro X) on the MacBook and open the Activity Monitor.

    Open Activity Monitor in Applications
    Open Activity Monitor in Applications
  2. Close all the processes that are not essential and see if the charging problem is solved.

Select Charge to Full Now in the Battery Menu of the MacBook
Select Charge to Full Now in the Battery Menu of the MacBook

8. Try Another Charger and Power Outlet

You will experience slow charging on your MacBook if the charger is faulty or if the power outlet is providing “bad” electricity to the charger. This issue can be resolved by using another power outlet and charger.

  1. Switch the charger to a different power outlet in a different room and check if the charging speed is back to normal.
  2. If not, arrange another charger (from a colleague, friend, or family) and put the MacBook on charging for at least an hour. Check if the charging problem is solved.

Try Another Charger with the MacBook
Try Another Charger with the MacBook
  3. If this does not work and your MacBook supports charging through multiple ports, disconnect the charger from the port and wait for 3 seconds.
  4. Connect to a different port and check if the charging is working correctly.

9. Reseat the Internal Components of the MacBook

If an internal component of the power circuit of the MacBook has become loose, it can cause inexplicable power behavior in the laptop, including slow charging. This can be solved by reseating the internal components of the MacBook.

Warning: Do not try this step if the MacBook is under warranty as this will void the warranty. If you are not skillful in doing so, do not try.

  1. Disconnect the charger from the MacBook and power off the MacBook.
  2. Remove the back cover of the laptop and disconnect the ribbon jumper that connects the motherboard with the power PCB.

    Reseat RAMs of the MacBook
    Reseat RAMs of the MacBook
  3. Reseat all the components one by one such as keyboard connectors, RAMs, etc.
  4. Connect back the jumper between the power PCB and motherboard.
  5. Connect the cover back to the MacBook and power it on.
  6. Connect the charger to the MacBook and see if it is charging correctly.

10. Perform a macOS Recovery Over the Internet

The MacBook will charge slowly if its core OS components dealing with the charging mechanism are damaged, and as a result, fail to properly control the charging procedure. Here, performing a macOS Recovery over the Internet will solve the problem.

Before moving on, backup the data on your MacBook as it will be wiped. Fully charge the MacBook and keep it plugged in during the process.

  1. Restart the MacBook and press/hold the following keys on the built-in keyboard:
    Option

    Command

    R

Boot the MacBook into the Internet Recovery Mode
Boot the MacBook into the Internet Recovery Mode
  2. On the startup screen, release these buttons and enter the password (if asked).
  3. Select the volume to recover (if required) and enter the administrator’s account (if required) password.
  4. In the Wi-Fi menu shown, connect the MacBook to your Wi-Fi network. If an Ethernet connection is available, you can skip this step.
  5. The recovery process will start and wait till the process is completed.
  6. In the macOS Recovery Utilities, select Reinstall macOS (version such as Ventura).
  7. Follow the prompts to complete the process and once done, set up the MacBook as per your requirements. Hopefully, this will clear the charging issue on the MacBook.

If the issue persists, contact Apple Support for further assistance. You may request a replacement if it’s still under warranty. Otherwise, have the MacBook checked for a hardware error. The error might be a faulty charging port, a malfunctioning battery, or a damaged motherboard.

Common Scenarios

  • The issue has been observed across various models and generations of Airpods, even with brand-new ones.
  • The problem has been reported on a range of devices, including Apple products (iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, Macs) and non-Apple devices (Android phones, TVs, Windows/Linux systems).
  • Device or Airpods firmware updates can trigger the audio problem.
  • The issue occurs during various activities like media playback, calls, and specific app usage (Spotify, Apple Music).
  • Interestingly, the problem may be specific to a particular app.
  • There can be cases where one AirPod works while the other does not.

Troubleshooting Prerequisites

  • Make sure the Airpods are clean as accumulated dust can prevent the pods from producing any sound.
  • Put the AirPods in your ears and then check for sound.
  • Ensure that the balance for Airpods is set to center.

How to Fix Airpods Producing No Sound

Firstly, we will try to get the AirPods to produce sound using less invasive methods. However, if things do not go well, we will move on to more specific device-related troubleshooting. These devices may include iPhones, iPads, TVs, Android, or Windows-based devices.

1. Reconnect the Airpods with Your Device

If the communication modules of both devices are in an error state, you won’t experience any audio output from the connected AirPods. Simply resolve this issue by re-connecting your device with the AirPods.

Put the Airpods into Their Case

  1. Remove the AirPods from your ears and put them into their case.

Put AirPods into the Charging Case

2. Restart the Problematic Device and Other Connected Devices

The AirPods will fail to output any sound due to issues in the output modules of your device (like an iPhone) or as a result of interference from another connected device (such as an Apple Watch). Restarting the devices will solve the problem. To do this with an iPhone:

  1. If the issue occurs with a particular app (e.g., Spotify), force close the app, relaunch it, and check if that solves the problem.
  2. If not, power off the iPhone and wait for a minute.

    Power off the iPhone
    Power off the iPhone
  3. Power on the iPhone and connect it to the AirPods. See if the issue is resolved.
  4. If this does not work, power off other connected devices (e.g., your Apple Watch) and check if that makes the sound work on Airpods. You can also enable Airplane Mode on the connected device if you do not want to power it off.

3. Update the Problematic App, Device, and AirPods

You will not get any sound from the AirPods if the problematic app (such as the Tiles app), OS of the device (e.g., iPhone), and the firmware of the AirPods are outdated. This will make these incompatible with each other.

To overcome this, update the problematic app, device, and Airpods.

Update the Problematic App

  1. Launch the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and search for the problematic app (such as the Tiles app). In the case of another device (e.g., a Windows PC), update the application through the web.

  5. If this does not work, disable Wi-Fi on the phone and see if this gets the job done.

6. Change the Audio Settings of the Airpods

If the audio settings of the AirPods don’t match the required device settings, they won’t produce any sound, even when connected. To fix this issue, adjust the audio settings of the AirPods.

Increase the Volume of the TV

  1. After connecting your AirPods to the TV, stroke the stem of the pods upward or double-tap it.

Increase Volume of the AirPods by Stroking the Stem
Increase the Volume of the AirPods by Stroking the Stem
  2. See if the volume is increasing and the sound is coming from the AirPods. This serves as a safety precaution when AirPods are connected to a non-Apple device, as the maximum volume might be excessively loud and could potentially harm your ears, thus the volume defaults to zero.
  3. If not, lower the AirPods volume to zero and then increase. Confirm it the problem is solved.
  4. If this does not work, reduce the TV’s volume to zero and then raise it to the maximum. Verify if the issue is resolved.

Disable Automatic Ear Detection

  6. Pair the iPhone with the Airpods and hopefully, their sound issue would be resolved.

If the case of a Windows PC or Mac, you may need to reinstall OS. For other devices, such as a TV, you may need to reset it to its factory default settings.

If the Airpods are still not producing any sound, contact Apple Support and request a replacement of the Airpods (if under warranty). If the issue is occurring with a single device (e.g., an iPhone), get the device replaced (if under warranty) or repaired. Additionally, you may need to use a Bluetooth dongle with some desktop systems to make the AirPods produce any sound with those systems.
